about

words and music: Joshua Camp

lyrics

my heart-

-lives underground when sun is up.
-builds a house of cards in a hurricane .
-keeps a running time while the race is on.
-plays the chords of a song in the wrong style.
-untrusting the months and weeks to come.
-a hardened life will begin to turn.

-takes a seat on the rides at the carnival.
-in silence waiting for a moment in time.
-stays away from the light of a casual smile.
-needs a place to hide from all the bright faces.

-only stops to see the scenery fly.
-on the way to a gleam in someone else’s eye.
-beats so many times that I’ve lost count.
-it’s all I know, it’s all I know.
